The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, commonly known as the Right to Education Act (RTE), was enacted by the Parliament of India on 4 August 2009. This legislation underscores the importance of providing cost-free and obligatory education to children aged 6 to 14 in India, in accordance with Article 21a of the Indian Constitution.

The Right to Free & Compulsory Education Act 2009 further solidifies the commitment to ensuring that every child in India has access to quality education, irrespective of their background or socio-economic status.
