This directive outlines the eligibility criteria for officers and staff to receive the 7th CPC Briefcase Allowance. The reimbursement rates have been carefully established according to the pay matrix levels of the respective personnel.

It’s crucial to understand that while officers are granted the freedom to choose and purchase a qualifying product at any price from their preferred retailer, the reimbursement amount is firmly established. Officers can only access this reimbursement by submitting their claims within the specified timeframe.

Revised Rates of Briefcase Allowance 2024

In accordance with the existing guidelines, members of this Department, including both officials and officers, can request reimbursement for acquiring a 7th CPC Briefcase Allowance, office bag, or women’s purse once every three years following the date they last received one. Recently, the Competent Authority has revised the reimbursement limit for these items to better assist employees in meeting their professional requirements.

An officer or official has the option to buy a 7th CPC Briefcase Allowance, Office Bag, or Ladies Purse on their own. They should submit the original receipt to the General Administration Branch, confirming the purchase.
