Dearness Allowance for KVS Teachers and Staff
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, a key player in the education sector, has recently announced an exciting new policy for its staff. Starting January 1, 2024, both teaching and non-teaching personnel within the KVS framework will benefit from a substantial salary boost. A remarkable 50% increase in Dearness Allowance has been sanctioned for all employees, irrespective of their job titles.
This added financial support will be calculated based on half of each employee’s Basic pay, ensuring equitable remuneration across the board. To ease any financial burdens, the Dearness Allowance for the first two months of January and February will be disbursed as arrears, while that for March will be included in the next paycheck.

A Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) working at a Kendriya Vidyalaya in urban areas can expect to earn around Rs. 91,080 as a gross monthly salary, with no deductions taken out initially. However, there will be two deductions that will apply later: NPS and CGEGIS.
