Paid Holiday on Poll Day for Lok Sabha Election 2024 in Uttarakhand
Lok Sabha Election Holidays in Uttarakhand 2024: The Uttarakhand government has officially declared a public holiday on 19.4.2024, the date of the Lok Sabha election. This holiday will be observed by all government offices at various levels – central, state, public sector undertakings, corporations, local bodies, and panchayats, in order to facilitate employee participation in the voting process. Educational institutions will also be closed on both the polling day and the day of vote counting.
Private companies, particularly those in the IT and BPO sectors, have been recommended to grant a holiday to their employees to ensure their ability to exercise their voting rights. Additionally, small businesses and shops are encouraged to make necessary arrangements to allow their staff to cast their votes as required.
