Paid Holiday on Poll Day for Lok Sabha Election 2024 in Meghalaya
Lok Sabha Election Holidays in Meghalaya 2024: The Government of Meghalaya has announced an official paid holiday on 19.4.2024 for the Lok Sabha election, with the objective of promoting voter turnout and civic engagement. This holiday will apply to central and state government workers, as well as employees of local bodies, schools, anganwadis, corporations, and public undertaking organizations in Meghalaya.
Additionally, the Election Commission has instructed private sector offices and factories to also grant employees the necessary accommodations to vote in the upcoming election. This proactive initiative is designed to ensure that all eligible voters have the opportunity to participate in the democratic process and express their opinions.
