- Nationality: The appointment or employment under these regulations is exclusively reserved for Indian citizens, unless expressly permitted in writing by the Central Government. Nonetheless, individuals from Nepal or Bhutan may also be considered for appointment, enrollment, or employment under these provisions.
- Gender: Both male and female aspirants are qualified for the role of Assistant Commandants.
- Age Criteria:
- Prospective candidates must be a minimum of 20 years old and a maximum of 25 years old as of August 1, 2024. This necessitates that they were born between August 2, 1999, and August 1, 2004.
The upper age limit may be relaxed as outlined below:
- Up to five years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes.
- Up to three years for individuals from Other Backward Classes eligible for reservation.
- Up to five years for Civilian Central Government Servants in accordance with prevailing government directives. Similarly, Ex-Servicemen can avail of this concession. Nevertheless, the cumulative relaxation attributed to Government Service should not exceed five years.
