The 24/7 service allows individuals to easily verify the holiday timetable at any time. Moreover, TNPDS has partnered with local radio stations and newspapers to disseminate information regarding the holiday schedules of ration stores. This initiative ensures that individuals can stay updated even in the absence of a smartphone or internet access.
Residents can now conveniently plan their visits to ration shops with the streamlined process implemented by TNPDS, ensuring access to essential items even during holidays. The TNPDS initiative caters to the needs of the community, requiring all individuals to possess smart cards categorized as Above Poverty Line (APL) or Below Poverty Line (BPL).
The TNPDS website facilitates easy access to information such as ration card details, recent transactions, and village distribution centers. Ration shops operate daily, except on Sundays, weekly holidays, and government holidays. With 39 districts, 315 taluks, 246 godowns, 34,790 fair price shops, and 292 kerosene bunkers, the TNPDS system encompasses a total of 35,082 locations.
