What is Guru Gobind Singh famous for?

Gobind Das was born on 22 December 1666 in Patna Sahib, Bihar Subah, part of the vast Mughal Empire. His life ended tragically on 7 October 1708 at the age of 41 in Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Bidah Subah, also within the Mughal Empire, due to an assassination. He was a devout follower of Sikhism and had three spouses – Mata Ajeet Kaur, Mata Sundar Kaur, and Mata Sahib Kaur.

He was a parent to several children, including Ajit Singh, Jujhar Singh, Zorawar Singh, Fateh Singh, and Zorawar Singh Palit whom he adopted. Gobind Das was widely recognized for his pivotal role in establishing the Khalsa and the Khalsa Fauj.
