Lok Sabha Election Holidays in Puducherry 2024: The government of Puducherry has officially declared a public holiday on the day of the Lok Sabha election, scheduled for 19.4.2024. This holiday is applicable to all government offices at various levels, including central, state, public sector undertakings, corporations, local bodies, and panchayats, with the purpose of facilitating employee participation in the voting process.
In addition, educational institutions will be closed on both the polling day and the day of vote counting. Private enterprises, especially those in the IT and BPO sectors, have been recommended to also grant a holiday to their employees to ensure their ability to exercise their voting rights. Moreover, small businesses and stores are encouraged to make necessary arrangements to enable their staff to cast their votes accordingly.
