Paid Holiday on Poll Day for Lok Sabha Election 2024 in Maharashtra
Lok Sabha Election Holidays in Maharashtra 2024: The government of Maharashtra has officially declared a public holiday on the dates of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for April 19, 2024, April 26, 2024, May 7, 2024, May 13, 2024, and May 20, 2024. This holiday will be observed across all government offices at the central, state, public sector undertaking, corporation, local body, and panchayat levels to facilitate the participation of employees in the electoral process.
Moreover, educational institutions will be closed on both the polling days and the day of vote counting. Private companies, particularly those operating in the IT and BPO sectors, are strongly encouraged to grant a holiday to their employees to ensure their ability to exercise their voting rights. In addition, small businesses and shops are urged to make necessary provisions to enable their staff to cast their votes accordingly.
